Catching up on what's going on the past few months!

Well a lot has been going on this winter( if you can call it winter). Since we have been very lucky that we have had great golf weather in usually our rainy time, we have had some good work days for course projects. The first report is the golf course got our recertification as an International Audubon Sanctuary. Thank you to the golf club crew for helping out with the nesting boxes.

Our biggest bridge going from #4tee to 4 green has been repaired. We decided that the existing 3x10s would be a good base for putting an overlay of 2x10x20. We laid the boards length wise rather than accost to smooth things out. I was very happy with the results. We hope to work on the other bridges as moneybecomes available .

New #10 green has finally been turning the corner. The root density has been increasing where it could handle regular play. I have been babying it for a while giving it fertility, mowing, seeding, sanding it all the time, and I am just as excited to play it as everyone else. It will play 206 yards from the blue tee. It will defiantly not be a pushover par 3. We will be having a grand opening very soon. It will be announced through the pro shop. It will be a great addition to the course. The existing area that we are using for a temporary #10 will turn into a teaching and practice area for customers.

Another project that I have been itching at doing for a while are some major drainage projects. The areas that we have been doing are areas that water has nowhere to go. So we do a little surveying, mapping, trenching to make sure the piping is going down hill and is guaranteed to move some water away from our typically bad areas. We have completed some major areas on holes 2, 12, 14, with more to come!
